The Evangelical Congregational Church began as a result of a great void. Following the Revolutionary War, the frontier began moving westward faster than the Church's witness. Men called by God were needed to carry the messge about Jesus and the new life He offers to these new settlements. Jacob Albright answered this call. The Evangelical Association sprang from this humble beginning and came to be known as the Evangelical Congregational Church. The denomination is now international and is known for its zeal and vibrant faith; "To Know Christ and To Make Him Known".
