ANGEL FOOD MINISTRIES PROGRAM The Official Board of St. David's has endorsed the Angel Food Ministries program. They are a non-profit agency and anyone can use the program each month no matter their income. Payment can be made by money order or cash. They do not accept checks or debit/check cards. Great food for a little price. Each month's food selection packages, menus, and order forms can be found at the Resource Table. Anyone can order food from AngelFood no matter your income. Pick up is at Friendship Community Church, 3380 Fox Run Road in Dover. Dover Area Food Bank is holding monthly food distribution at St. David's Pavilion for the months of July, August, and September. The July distribution is on Monday, July 26th, Two volunteers are needed to unload the truck at the pavilion at 10:00 AM. There will be 90 boxes and 90 bags to unload. Please contact the church office if you can help. DOVER FOOD BANK cannot accept food that has an expiration date that has passed. The food may still be good but by law they must throw it away. Please check the date before you donate. Thank you for your attention to this notice. Every first Sunday of the month is Food Bank Sunday, but you may bring in your donations any day! Thank you for helping your local neighbors in need. Place in the wooden box at the reception desk downstairs. Needs include peanut butter, pancake mix and syrups, instant potatoes, tomato sauce and paste, diced tomatoes, red beets, sauerkraut, egg noodles, tomato soup, and creamed soups.
***** OVERVIEW OF MANY MINISTRIES AT ST. DAVID'S E.C.C. Ministry is a vital part of St. David's. A primary goal of Jesus and Christians is to minister to people in need. Our ministries are available to help you grow personally and spiritually, as well as give you the opportunity to celebrate with others what God is doing in and through you. Click on the ministry category on the left of this page that you are interested in for specific information on classes, times, locations, and activities. Ministries available at St. David's include: Worship Services: Click on left side margin for link to times of services. Sunday School For All Ages: Click on left side margin for link to more detailed information. Prayer: There is a noontime prayer time every Wednesday in Room C and Prayer and Praise Meeting Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM in Room M. Women's Prayer Breakfast meets the first Saturday of the month at 8:00 AM in Room M. Contact Linette Kindig or Joyce Ehrman with questions regarding this ministry of prayer. Prayerwalking is another ministry that is utilized as an outreach into the community. Every Sunday morning during the worship hours, there are two people in the Prayer Room praying for God's anointing presence on the service. Call Florence Baum, our prayer room coordinator, to get involved in this ministry. Deacon/Deaconess Ministry: The Deacons and Deaconesses assist the Pastor with the spiritual and physical care of the congregation. Each Deacon and Deaconess is assigned a certain number of households (listed alphabetically) to oversee and serve. They are to follow-up on those assigned to them who are becoming lack in their attendance which is measured by monthly attendance following up with phone call or visit. They visit those assigned to them who may have a crisis such as sickness, injury, death, or conflict in their household providing a ministry of care and support to them in their home, the hospital, or a nursing home. They refer those who need further spiritual care and counseling to the Pastor. This ministry assists the Pastor in administering the Anna Pinkerton Agape Fund and also assist the Pastor in the follow-up of visitors to our worship services. The Deaconesses will assist the Pastor in visitation of single women in the congregation and those who may be visitors. Small Group Bible Studies - Many small groups meet almost every day of the week. Check out the Bible Study link on the left of this page for more information. Youth Ministry - Youth Groups and High Voltage Coffee House MInistry. Mr. Dave Wennerholt is our Youth Ministry Director. Missions - The Adult Missionary Fellowship ministry leads our congregation in keeping us aware and informed of the role our church and denomination plays in missions involving the community and world. St. David's supports missionaries and many mission organizations such as New Hope Ministry, Dover Food Bank, New Life for Girls, York Rescue Mission, Good News Jail and Prison Ministry, and also Release Time which ministers to school students who are released from school for an hour a week for Bible Stories and Bible Memory. Music - We have a Senior Choir which practices on Wednesdays at 7:15 PM under the direction of Ann Senft, Junior Choir practices the 1st and 3rd Sundays at 4:30 PM before Youth Group under the direction of Dena Dietrich and Lara Dietrich, Youth Bell Choir practices each Sunday at 5:00 PM under the direction of Nate Grim, Praise Worship Team, and Solid Rock Men's Chorus who practice Wednesdays at 6:00 PM Christian Education: Worship Services, Junior Church, Sunday School, VBS, and Bible Studies for all ages are many areas of Christian Education Ministry at St. David's. Hospitality Meal Ministry - A vital ministry to serve by making a meal for those of our church family who are going through recovery following surgery, cancer treatment, or another serious incapacitating event in their lives. If you want to be a part of this ministry, contact Gloria Lease, the coordinator of this ministry. Dorcas Ministry - This is a group who meets the 4th Thursday of every month at 6:00 PM to knit and crochet items for charity - baby hats, sweaters, prayer shawls, etc. All are welcome!
