Dear St. David’s Family,
Greetings to you in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I hope you are doing well during this trying time our nation and the nations of the world are experiencing. Remember Our sovereign and gracious God is our protector and healer. Hear the words of the Psalmist from Psalm 46:1-3.
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.”
The pandemic that the world is experiencing is causing many to have fear and panic. Let me encourage you to call upon the One who is our “ever-present help”.
The daily routine of our lives has been disrupted by the threat of the corona virus. St. David’s life and ministries is also being affected by the disruptions it has caused in our state and nation. The CDC is asking that we practice “social distancing” and not to assemble in groups larger than 10 people. With this directive, St. David’s will be canceling all worship services and ministries for the foreseeable future. We will hopefully resume our worship services and Sunday School again in the month of May. You can follow along with our Sunday Morning Message Recordings on our youtube channel or on facebook. AWANA, Elevate and Converge are also canceled until further notice. We will let you know if these restarts will actually take effect on their projected dates as we discern the effects of the virus on our community.
We are investigating ways to bring the ministries of St. David’s to you and our community through the internet and social media. We will let you know when this will be available for your use. Remember we do have a website www.stdavidsecc.com and two Facebook pages – St. David’s E.C. Church (Members & Attenders page) and St. David’s Church of Dover (Public Page). Let me encourage you to use the resources of churches and ministries that are available by television, radio and online. Please contact me if you would like the names of those churches and ministries.
Please contact us if you are in need of any assistance (groceries, medication, transportation, etc.). Let’s not let social distancing prevent us from caring for one another.
Some have asked about the receiving of tithes and offerings. The work of St. David’s and the meeting of our financial obligations continue. You can send or drop off your tithe and offering at the church office to continue your service to Christ and the Church. Church Office hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 AM-3:00 PM. At this time we do not have the capability to facilitate online giving. We will be investigating this option in the near future.
We are living in unprecedented and challenging times but we must place our faith in the one who is the Overcomer - Jesus Christ our Lord. May this be the time for the Church to be the salt and light to our world by bringing it the Gospel and Grace of Jesus!
